Recipe: Cacciatore Chicken Wings

Appetizers and Snacks
CACCIATORE CHICKEN WINGS

3 to 4 pounds chicken wings - split in half, tips removed
1 (14 ounce) can/jar of spaghetti sauce (or homemade)
2 large garlic cloves, finely minced
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/2 teaspoon basil
1/2 teaspoon oregano
1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely minced
1/4 cup red wine

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.

In a large bowl, stir together spaghetti sauce, garlic, olive oil, basil, oregano, parsley and wine. Toss wings in sauce and coat well. Place wings on a shallow baking sheet and baste immediately with two thirds of the remaining sauce.

Bake until done, basting often with remaining sauce, until wings are done - 40-50 minutes. Serve with garlic bread and a green salad or as an appetizer before pasta.

"Adapted this version after trying it in a restaurant. They were offered in a basket with garlic bread on the side."
