This may be the recipe you want, although I have always had these
as an appetizer in restaurants.
Spicy Szechuan Green Beans
1 T salad oil
1 T minced fresh ginger
1 T fresh garlic
1/2 C water
1/4 C rice-wine vinegar
1/4 C soy sauce
1 T minced jalapeno chiles
2 T honey
1 tsp cider vinegar
1 tsp sherry wine
2 C peanut oil
11 oz fresh green beans
2 oz cooked bacon pieces
To prepare sauce: In saucepan, heat salad oil over medium heat.
Add ginger & garlic. cook for 3 minutes. Add water, rice-wine
vinegar, soy sauce, chiles, honey, cider vinegar & sherry wine.
Simmer for 5 minutes.
To cook beans: In separate skillet, heat peanut oil. Deep-fry
green beans for 45 seconds. Remove. Drain. Mix with bacon &
sauce. Serve 4 - 6 appetizer servings
*I've never had them with bacon.
