Recipe(tried): Chicken and Dumplings

This recipe taste almost as good as my mother made.
1 large chicken
2 guarts of chicken stock
1 can cream of chicken soup
6 tablespoons of butter
salt and pepper to taste
Dumplings
2 hard boiled eggs chopped

Boil chicken till tender. Remove meat from bone and cut into small pieces. Save you liquid for stock, add water to make 2 quarts if necessary. Add soup,butter, salt and pepper. Make dumplings and cut into strips. Drop dumplings into boiling stock. Boil 2-3 minutes, stirring gently. Foild in chicken and eggs. Simmer for 20 minutes.
Dumplings
2/3 cup shortening
1 1/3 cup milk
4 cups all purpose flour
cut shortening into flour and add milk to make soft dough. Roll out and cut into strips
