What happened to Chicken Tonight sauces
You can make a quick and easy Chicken Cacciatore by simmering chicken pieces in prepared tomato sauce (purchased or homemade). If you like them, add sauteed peppers and onions or select a sauce with those and/or other veggies already in it. Brown your chicken pieces first, cover with the sauce, put a lid on your skillet or saucepan and simmer on medium heat until chicken is done. Depending on how thick your sauce is you may need to add a little water at the start - you don't want it very thick at the beginning. If necessary, thicken the sauce when the chicken is done. Remove the chicken pieces and turn up the temperature a little. Stir the sauce frequently as it thickens. Serve with cooked pasta or noodles. Or take the cooked chicken off the bones (can be made with boneless chicken breasts) and serve in a hoagie roll for a hot chicken cacciatore sandwich.
Happy Cooking!
