Recipe(tried): Chocolate Trifle (not quite the same)

Misc.
Lisa, this doesn't have the cookies but it is delicious and always brings raves from my guests. You could use cookies crumbs in place of the heath bars. I am also going to include a 2nd recipe that is similar. Hope these help.

California Chocolate Trifle**

Recipe By : Lyndel Coleman
Serving Size : 12 Preparation Time :0:00
Categories : Dessert

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method
-------- ------------ --------------------------------
1 Box Devil's Food Cake Mix -- Baked
1/3 Cup Kahlua
2 3 Oz Boxes Instant Chocolate Pudding -- Use Only 3 Cups Milk
16 Oz Cool Whip
8 Small Heath Bars -- Frozen & Chopped

Prepare cake mix as directed and bake in a 9x13 pan. Cool and cut into large chunks. Prepare pudding, using only 3 cups of milk instead of 4. Blend Kahlua into pudding mix. Chop frozen Heath Bars finely (Cuisinart works great).

Best presented in a deep, clear glass trifle bowl. Layer 1/2 cake, 1/2 pudding, 1/2 Cool Whip, 1/2 Heath Bars....Repeat.

NOTE: Heath Bars come two in a package....use 4 packages. Also, my glass trifle bowl is a little wider than a round cake pan, so I bake the cake in two layer pans and leave the layers whole....using one for the bottom and one for the top layer.

Kahlua Parfait

Recipe By :
Serving Size : 1 Preparation Time :0:00
Categories : Dessert

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method
-------- ------------ --------------------------------
***** NONE *****

Kahlua Parfait

Put a TBLS. of Kahlua in the bottom of each serving
glass. Cover with a scoop of ice cream. Add some
whipped cream if you have it and want to add it.
Continue layering to fit the container. Top with
whipped cream and nuts, cookie crumbs or whatever
appeals to you. Put into freezer until a few minutes
before you wish to serve.

These can be made at the last minute since they are so
easy or done in advance.

You can use vanilla, coffee, or actually any ice cream
that you like. You can also amend the amounts of
Kahlua to suit each guest. Just a dribble for some
might be plenty. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
