Recipe: Congealed Strawberry Buttermilk Salad (strawberry Jell-O, pineapple, and pecans)

CONGEALED STRAWBERRY BUTTERMILK SALAD

"Makes a beautiful, light salad."

1 large (6 oz.) package strawberry gelatin
1 (20 oz.) can crushed pineapple, undrained
2 cups buttermilk
1 cup chopped pecans
1 (9 oz.) carton frozen whipped topping, thawed

Mix gelatin and undrained pineapple in large saucepan. Heat on stove until gelatin dissolves. (Do not boil). Allow to cool.

Mix in buttermilk, pecans and whipped topping until blended. Pour into a 12x8-inch oblong dish or clear glass bowl. Refrigerate.
