Recipe(tried): Creamy Wild Rice Soup with Smoked Turkey

CREAMY WILD RICE SOUP with SMOKED TURKEY
2 tsp. butter
1 cup chopped carrots
1 cup chopped onion
1 cup chopped green onion
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp. chopped fresh rosemary, or 1/4 tsp. dried
1/4 tsp. black pepper
1 quart chicken broth
1 1/2 cups chopped smoked turkey breast
1 cup uncooked wild rice (or mix of wild & brown)
2 3/4 cups low-fat milk
1/3 cup flour
2 tbsp. dry sherry
1/2 tsp. salt (optional)
Melt butter in a large Dutch-oven over medium heat; add carrot, onions, garlic, rosemary, and black pepper; saute until lightly browned.
Stir in broth, scraping pan, to loosen browned bits. Stir in turkey and rice. Simmer 1 hour 15 minutes until rice is tender.
Combine milk and flour in small bowl stirring with a whisk. Add flour mixture to soup and cook, stirring, until thickened.
Stir in sherry and taste for salt.
