CRY BABIES
1 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 cup molasses
1 cup strong and hot coffee
1 cup seedless raisins
2 1/2 cups flour
2 tsp cinnamon
5 tsp ginger, ground
2 tsp baking soda
1 cup walnuts or pecans, chopped
Cream together the butter and sugar. Add the molasses.
Sift the flour, cinnamon, ginger and salt. Add to the creamed mixture, alternating with the coffee. Stir in the raisins and nuts. Drop by teaspoonfuls 1 to 1 1/2 inches apart on to cookie sheets.
Bake at 350 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes.

Yield: 72 Cookies

2 eggs
1 cup molasses
2 tsp soda
1 cup hot coffee
5 cups flour
1/8 tsp salt
2 tsp ginger
2 tsp cinnamon

Cream sugar and shortening. Add eggs; beat well. Add molasses.
Dissolve soda in hot coffee; add to creamed mixture. Add all remaining dry ingredients and nuts; drop by spoonfuls on greased cookie sheet.
Bake 10 to 15 minutes at 350 degrees.

Cream together:
1/2 cup soft shortening
1 1/4 cups sugar
Stir in:
2 eggs
6 Tbsp. molasses
Sift together and add to above:
1 3/4 cups flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
Stir in:
2 cups quick oats
1/2 cups nuts
1 cup raisins
Bake at 400 for 8-10 minutes. Watch carefully to prevent burning.
