Recipe: Dessert Bruschetta with Cheese and Honey

Appetizers and Snacks
DESSERT BRUSCHETTA WITH CHEESE AND HONEY

4 to 6 (3/4-inch-thick) slices rustic (country-style) bread
Olive oil, extra-virgin preferred
4 to 6 thick slices Asiago cheese or Gruyere cheese
Honey, preferably with strong flower or herb flavor, such as lavender honey

Heat grill.

When fire is medium-hot, toast bread in single layer. Turn bread and brush with olive oil. Top each with cheese.

Toast until cheese melts and underside of bread is nicely toasted, moving toast to cooler part of grill, if necessary to prevent burning.

TO SERVE:
Serve on small, individual plates. Have each guest top his or her portion with desired amount of honey. Enjoy with knives and forks.

Makes 4-6 servings
