Recipe: Dried Beef Rarebit

DRIED BEEF RAREBIT

1/4 cup butter or margarine
1/4 cup flour
3/4 cup milk
1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese (4 oz.)
1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
Dash of paprika
1 (2 1/4 oz.) pkg. Armour Star Sliced Dried Beef, rinsed, chopped
Toast points (for serving)

In fry pan, blend flour in butter or margarine on medium heat. Gradually add milk; cook, stirring until thickened.

Reduce heat to low; stir in cheese, Worcestershire sauce, paprika and dried beef. Cook 5 minutes.

Serve over toast, sliced diagonally.

MICROWAVE INSTRUCTIONS:
In a microwave-safe bowl combine butter or margarine and flour. Microwave on high 1 minute or until butter or margarine melts. Mix well. Gradually add milk, stirring until smooth. Microwave on high 6-8 minutes or until thickened, stirring every 2 minutes. Stir in cheese, Worcestershire sauce, paprika and dried beef; microwave on high 2-3 minutes until cheese melts.
