I like to do my Chicken a la King the traditional way, but for those who will like to cook it more often, here is an easy version.
Easy Chicken a la King
1 can (103/4 oz.) cream of chicken soup, undiluted
1/4 cup milk
1 cup chopped cooked chicken (or canned chicken or frozen, cooked chicken strips)
1/4 cup frozen peas
1 jar (2 oz.) jar diced pimiento, drained
1 can (4 oz.) whole mushrooms, drained
1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
Chow mein noodles, hot cooked rice or toast
Combine first 8 ingredients in a heavy saucepan; cook over low heat 10 minutes, stirring often. Serve over noodles, rice or toast. Makes 2 servings.
