Recipe: French Buttercream Cookies for Donna, VA

Hi Donna:-) I found this recipe on the internet. Could this be the one you are looking for?

FRENCH BUTTERCREAM COOKIES

1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
1 cup margarine, softened
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cream of tartar
1/4 tsp salt
2 1/4 cups flour
food coloring (optional)
colored sugars

TO PREPARE THE DOUGH:
Mix together well the powdered sugar, margarine, egg, vanilla, baking soda, cream of tartar, and salt.

Add flour and blend at low speed. If desired, tint with food coloring. Chill dough 15-30 minutes before shaping.

TO SHAPE AND BAKE:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a cookie sheet.

Shape dough in 3/4 inch balls, Place on greased cookie sheet, flatten with fork sprinkle with colored sugars.

Bake at 350 degrees F for 5-8 minutes until set but not brown. Let stand on cookie sheet 1 minute before removing.
