FRIGIDAIRE COOKIES
1 1/2 cups shortening
1 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup white sugar
3 eggs
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons cinnamon
4 cups flour
Cream shortening. Add sugar and beat well. Then add eggs one at a time, beating meanwhile.
Sift dry ingredients and stir into first mixture. It is nice to divide this dough into three portions, adding melted chocolate and vanilla to one; grated cocoa- nut to one; nuts and raisins or chopped dates to one. These portions may be made into sausage-like rolls, wrapped in waxed paper, and placed in Frigidaire over night or until wanted.
Before baking, slice very thin, approximately one-eighth inch, and bake on a cookie sheet in hot oven (400 degrees F.) from 5 to 8 minutes.
VARIATION:
Part of the chocolate dough may be rolled to one-fourth inch thickness (square), a portion of the light dough rolled similarly and placed on the chocolate dough. The two sheets should then be "scrolled" in jelly-roll fashion, wrapped in waxed paper, and left in Frigidaire a few hours before slicing and baking. This will give a pinwheel effect.
