Recipe(tried): Frikadeller (Danish Meat Balls)

Main Dishes - Beef and Other Meats
FRIKADELLER (DANISH MEAT BALLS)

1 1/2 lbs ground beef
1/2 lb ground pork
1 small onion, grated
1 egg, beaten
Salt and pepper to taste
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup milk
3 tbsp butter or margarine

In a large mixing bowl, combine the meats, onion, egg, and salt and pepper.

With a wooden spoon, work in the flour; add the milk last, a little at a time; mix thoroughly. Let stand about 10 minutes.

In a heavy skillet, melt butter or margarine; when it's light brown turn the heat to low.

Form the meat balls and brown a few at a time on all sides. Put all meatballs in pan and cook for approximately 15 minutes, or bake in the oven at 325 degrees for 30 minutes.

Very good served with creamed cabbage or creamed spinach and small boiled potatoes.
