Recipe: Frozen Hot Chocolate (blender)

Beverages
FROZEN HOT CHOCOLATE

3 tablespoons superfine granulated sugar (not regular granulated sugar)
1 envelope (or 2-3 tablespoons) milk chocolate-flavor hot cocoa mix
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
1/3 cup semi-sweet chocolate morsels
1/3 cup milk chocolate morsels
1 (12 ounce) can evaporated milk, divided use
4 cups ice cubes
Whipped cream for garnish

Place sugar, cocoa mix and butter in the top part of a double boiler; set over gently boiling water. Stir frequently until melted and a smooth paste forms.

Add morsels and stir until they just begin to melt.

Slowly add 1/2-cup evaporated milk and stir until smooth and velvety. Cool mixture to room temperature.

Combine mixture with remaining evaporated milk and ice in a blender (in batches if necessary). Cover and blend until smooth.

Pour into individual glasses or bowls. Top with whipped cream and additional morsels if desired.

Serves 4, using a straw or spoon
