Recipe: Fruit Salad (with cooked dressing, using Queen Anne cherries, whipped cream)

FRUIT SALAD

FOR THE DRESSING:
1/4 cup cream
4 tablespoons sugar
2 egg yolks
Juice of 1 lemon
1 dash salt
FOR THE SALAD:
2 cups Queen Anne cherries, canned, pitted and drained
2 cups diced pineapple, drained
2 cups oranges, peeled, sectioned, well drained and cut into bite-size pieces
2 cups miniature marshmallows
1 cup chopped nuts
1 pint whipping (whipping) cream, whipped

Cook 1/4 cup cream, sugar, egg yolks, lemon juice, and salt in top of double boiler until thick, stirring constantly, and then let cool.

Combine the dressing mixture with fruit and whipped cream and mix lightly but thoroughly. Put in fridge overnight.
