GRAHAM CRACKER CAKE
This recipe for a Graham Cracker Cake is not exactly what you're searching for, but is a recipe handed down by my family and is over 100 years old. This is a very dense and rich cake, and will not rise a lot.
Ingredients for Cake:
1 Tbsp butter
1 1/4 cups sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 cups sour cream
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp vanilla
36 (2-inch) square graham crackers (very finely crushed)
To make Cake:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease two (8-inch) layer cake pans.
Cream butter and sugar. Add 2 eggs and mix. Add baking soda to sour cream and add sour cream mixture to butter and eggs. Add finely crushed graham crackers and combine. Add vanilla last. Pour into prepared pans.
Bake at 350 degrees for about 40 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. Frost cake when cool.
Ingredients for Frosting:
2 cups powdered sugar
1 Tbsp soft butter
8 Tbsp peanut butter
2 Tbsp milk
To make Frosting:
Mix all ingredients until you've reached a spreading consistency, adding more milk if needed.
