Starbuck's recipe is not available on the Internet. Still searching for a 12 grain recipe. So far I have only been able to come up with an 8-grain muffin for you to experiment with. Good luck! Please share your results with us.
Ruthie's 8 Grain Muffins
Source: Bob's Red Mill
1 cup Bob's Red Mill 8-Grain Wheatless Cereal
1 1/4 cups sour milk or buttermilk
1 Egg
1/2 cup Turbinado Sugar
1/3 cup margarine, softened
1 cup Bob's Red Mill Unbleached White Flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
Mix Bob's Red Mill 8 Grain Cereal and milk; allow to stand for 10 minutes while preheating oven and assembling other ingredients.
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Grease 12 muffin pan cups.
Cream egg, sugar, and margarine together.
Add dry ingredients and milk with cereal to egg mixture. Stir only until combined. Spoon into prepared muffin pan.
Bake in 400 degrees F oven for 15 minutes.
Makes 12 wonderful muffins
Notes to the recipe I justed posted from another bulletin board:
Which might bring the recipe up to 10 grains!!
NOTES :
-originally called for 10 grain cereal. Yum, yum! Be sure to let the cereal soak for a good 10-20 minutes so that the grains aren't too crunchy. Not too sweet but still breakfast-like.
-can reduce the butter to between 4 and 5 tablespoons safely
-if don't have brown sugar, can use 1/3 cup white sugar instead
-for a more nutrious muffin, sub 1/2 cup whole wheat flour for all-purpose--use 1 tablespoon less of the whole wheat since it absorbs more liquid.
Yum, yum! Perfect between meal muffin. Not really sweet.
