Recipe: Buttery Broccoli with Pasta (stove top or microwave) (Land O Lakes, 1980's)

1 1/2 cups cooked spaghetti (3 oz. uncooked)
1/2 cup Land O Lakes Sweet Cream Butter
1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen chopped broccoli, thawed, drained
1/2 cup (1 medium) chopped onion
1/2 tsp. garlic salt
1/2 tsp. Italian herb seasoning*
1 cup (1/2-inch) cubes tomato (1 medium)
Grated Parmesan cheese, if desired (for serving)
Have cooked spaghetti ready.
In 3 quart saucepan melt butter. Stir in broccoli, onion and seasonings. Cover; cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until onion is crisply tender (5 to 7 minutes). Stir in remaining ingredients except Parmesan cheese. Cover; continue cooking, stirring occasionally, until heated through (3 to 5 minutes). If desired, sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
MICROWAVE DIRECTIONS:
Have cooked spaghetti ready. In 2 quart casserole melt butter on HIGH (80 to 90 seconds). Stir in broccoli, onion and seasonings. Cover; cook on HIGH 3 minuts. Stir in spaghetti. Cover; cook on HIGH, stirring after 1/2 the time, until heated through (2 to 4 minutes). Stir in tomato. Cover; cook on HIGH 1 minute. Let stand 1 minute. If desired, sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
*1/4 tsp. each oregano leaves, marjoram leaves and basil leaves and 1/8 tsp. sage can be substituted for 1/2 tsp. Italian herb seasoning.
Makes 5 servings (3/4 cup each)
