Grilled Game Hens

This is a recipe for game hens that is just great and is very easy to make. When I make this I usually double it. - Gary Martin

2 Cornish game hens

Marinade:
1/2 cup soy sauce (I use Kikkoman)
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp ginger (powdered in the can)
1/4 tsp pepper
2 to 4 cloves garlic

Buy a couple of hens and thaw in the refrigerator, it will take about a day for them to thaw. Put them into the marinade and keep them in the refrigerator for 24 hours. Put them on a hot grill. Turn the grill down to a medium heat if it is a gas grill, watch them closely as they will burn easily,

Turn them about every five to ten minutes and baste them every time you turn them. It will take about 45 minutes to an hour for them to cook. They are done when the hens are turned and the juice runs clear.

While they are cooking, (if you like rice) you can make some rice about 20 minutes after the hens are put on, add some pea pods and you have a first class meal.
