Recipe(tried): Hamburger gravy over mashed taters (like California grade school)

I have longed for the taste of hamburger gravy over mashed taters as served in grade school in California. Yours is just how I finally figured out. The beef base gives it the right flavor and cooking in water makes the fine particles of beef. Ours was not milk at school but water based. It took many experiments to figure that out. Now if I could just figure out the hamburger pizza that they used to make! :-)
