Recipe: Heinz Gravy Chicken Fricasse (easy stovetop recipe, 1980's)

HEINZ CHICKEN FRICASSEE

2 1/2 to 3 pounds chicken pieces
1/4 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
2 tablespoons shortening (or oil)
1 (12 ounce) jar Heinz Homestyle Chicken Gravy
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg (optional)

Coat chicken pieces with mixture of flour, salt, paprika and pepper; brown well in shortening.

Stir in gravy and nutmeg, if desired. Cover; simmer 50-60 minutes or until chicken is done, basting occasionally.

Makes 4-6 servings
