Moravian Sugar Cake (So Liv)

2 envelopes active dry yeast
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1/2 cup warm water
1 cup butter or margarine -- melted; divided use
3/4 cup water
1/2 cup sugar
2 tablespoons nonfat dry milk powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup instant potato granules
2 large eggs
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Combine yeast, 1/2 teaspoon sugar and 1/2 cup warm water in a bowl; let
stand 5 minutes. Add 1/2 cup melted butter, 3/4 cup water, and next 5
ingredients (sugar to eggs). Add 1 cup flour; beat at low speed with
electric mixer 2 minutes. Stir in remaining 2 cups flour to make a soft
dough. Cover and let rise in a warm place (85 degrees), free from drafts,
for 45 minutes or until doubled in bulk. Punch dough down, then spread in a
lightly greased 10x15x2-inch jelly roll pan. Cover and let rise in a warm
place (85 degrees) for 30 minutes.

Make shallow indentations in dough at 1-inch intervals, using handle of a
wooden spoon. Drizzle with remaining butter. Combine brown sugar and
cinnamon and sprinkle over dough. Bake at 375 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes.
Cut into squares. [About 300 cals per pieces, 13g fat (39%cff)]
