Recipe: Holly Hobbie Oatmeal Cookies

This recipe is from a calendar from a later year (1982), but otherwise look like the likely culprit. Note that the same recipe exists all over the internet as "aggression cookies".

HOLLY HOBBIE OATMEAL COOKIES

3 cups brown sugar (firmly packed)
3 cups butter or margarine, softened
6 cups oatmeal (uncooked)
1 tbsp baking soda
3 cups sifted flour

Mix all ingredients together well.

Form dough into small balls about the size of small walnuts. Place on ungreased baking sheet.

Butter the bottom of a small glass, dip it in granulated sugar and mash the balls flat.(Redip glass as necessary to keep from sticking).

Bake at 350 degrees F for 10 to 12 minutes. Allow to cool a minute or so on cookie sheet.
