Recipe(tried): How about a crockpot (slow cooker) and one-dish meals
Misc.Hi Bob. Amen to cooking without a mess. One of my favorites is using a crockpot. You can fix your entire meal in one pot. Crockpots are no longer very expensive and they are available in various sizes. There are many many wonderful crockpot recipes that have been posted here on RecipeLink.
You can also save cleanup time if once or twice a week you chop and store the veggies you commonly use, such as onions, garlic, bok choy, carrots, etc. Speaking of carrots, I use a lot of the pre-cleaned baby carrots in my cooking because they can be rinsed and put right into my pot. By having these favorites pre-chopped you can use what you need when you are assembling your recipe with no new mess in your kitchen.
Many larger grocery stores also have veggies prechopped in the freezer section of the store. It doesn't get much easier than that.
One-dish meals (such as casseroles) can also reduce the number of pots and pans you use in preparing foods. There are also many tried casserole recipes already posted here on RecipeLink.
I hope this helps a bit.
I look forward to reading ideas posted by others.
