Recipe(tried): How to drain fat from meat

Hi Candace,

This applies to fat any from meat, poultry, or fish... not just ground beef.

Pour or spoon the fat into an empty tin can. Cover the top of the can with plastic wrap or foil so that it won't smell up your refrigerator. Refrigerate until hard (this can take a day or so). You can keep adding fat until the can is almost full. Then throw it away in the trash.

If there's just a little bit of fat to get rid of, absorb it with paper towels and throw them away.
