Recipe: Kiwifruit Chutney
Misc. Queen Bee, here are two recipes for you to try.

Angel.Kiwi ChutneyIngredients~~
2 firm Kiwi fruits,peeled and each cut into 6-8 wedges
3 teaspoons of sugar
i tablespoon of oil
teaspoon of mustard seeds
a pinch of turmericProcedure~~
Heat oil in a saucepan and add the mustard seeds.
Once the seeds start to sputter, add the kiwi fruits and stir for a minute.
Add half a cup of water,sugar and turmeric.
Cover and let cook on low to moderate heat until the kiwis are done.
Serve in room temperature.
Note~~
#Adjust sugar according to taste.
Here is Shona McFarlane's recipe from her book "White Moas and
Artichokes" and it is delicious.
Kiwifruit Chutney
1 kilogram kiwifruit (2 LBS)
2 bananas
3 onions
zest of 1 lemon
juice of 3 lemons
1 cup raisins
1 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground ginger
teaspoon cayenne pepper
3 tablespoons crystallised ginger
2 teaspoons salt
1 cup white vinegar
Peel and slice the kiwifruit, chop the onions and bananas.
Mix all ingredients in a saucepan and boil gently for about 1 hour until soft and thick.
Stir frequently, cool, spoon into sterilised
jars and seal.
