Recipe: Double Decker Brownies (using peanut butter cips and Rice Krispies) for Megan, Temperance Michigan

DOUBLE DECKER BROWNIES

1 (8x8 or 9x9 inch)pan of brownies...scratch or from mix
1 cup miniature marshmallows
1 cup peanut butter chips
1 Tbsp. shortening
1-1/2 cup Rice Krispies

Prepare recipe for brownies, omitting nuts. Remove from oven.

Evenly sprinkle marshmallows over brownies.

Return to oven to bake 5 additional minutes. Remove from oven. Cool in pan.

Combine peanut butter chips and shortening in top of double boiler over hot (not boiling) water. Stir until melted.

Add rice cereal, stir until thoroughly coated. Spread over top of marshmallows. Cool until set.

Cut into squares.
