Recipe: Lemon Cream Cheese Melts (cookies rolled in corn flake crumbs) (Occident/Kind Midas flour, 1960's)

LEMON CREAM CHEESE MELTS

1/2 cup butter
1 (3-oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup sugar
4 teaspoons grated lemon peel
2 teaspoons lemon juice
1 cup flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup crushed corn flakes

Cream butter, cheese and sugar until fluffy. Add lemon peel and juice, flour, baking powder and salt; blend well. Chill 1 hour.

WHEN READY TO BAKE:
Drop by teaspoonfuls into corn flakes. Roll to coat; shape into balls. Place on ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake at 350 degrees F for 12 to 15 minutes. Do not brown.

Makes about 3 1/2 dozen
