Recipe: Maybe this is it??

This is from a 1975 Campbell cookbook. I don't know if it is the one you are after or not.

LANCASTER COUNTY MEATBALLS

1 lb ground beef
1 egg, slightly beaten
1/4 c fine dry bread crumbs
2 tbsp finely chopped onion
1/8 tsp salt
1/8 tsp pepper
2 tbsp shortening
1 c thinly sliced carrots
2 cans, 10 1/2 oz each, condensed beef broth
2 soup cans water
1 small bay leaf
1 1/2 c med noodles, broken in pieces

mix THOROUGHLY beef, egg, bread crumbs, onion, salt, and pepper. shape mixture into 24 meatballs. in large heavy pan, brown meatballs in the shortening. pour off fat. add remaining ingredients. bring to boil. reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes or until the noodles are done. stir occasionally. remove bay leaf. garnish with sour cream if desired. makes about 7 cups.
