Recipe: Microwave Macaroni and Cheese

MICROWAVE MACARONI AND CHEESE

6 ounces elbow macaroni (1 1/2 cups), uncooked
1 1/2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups water
1 cup milk
2 tablespoons margarine
1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese (4 ounces)

In a greased 2-quart microwave-safe baking dish, combine uncooked macaroni, flour and salt; stir to coat macaroni with flour. Add water, milk and margarine; mix well. Cover and microwave on High (100% power) 6 to 7 minutes, or until mixture boils. Let stand 5 minutes.

Stir in cheese. Microwave on High 3 to 4 minutes, or until mixture boils and thickens. Let stand a few minutes before serving.

Makes 4 servings
