Recipe(tried): Mincemeat Dream Bars

Misc.
These are delicious! One of my husband's favorites!

MINCEMEAT DREAM BARS

1 1/2 cups plus 2 tablespoons flour
3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup shortening
1 1/2 cups prepared mincemeat
2 eggs
2/3 cup sugar
1/2 cup instant chocolate malted milk powder
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup quick-cooking rolled oats
1/2 cup flaked coconut

In large mixer bowl combine 1 1/2 cups flour, brown sugar, 1/4 teaspoon salt and shortening. Blend with mixer until particles are fine. Press in ungreased 13x9-inch pan. Spread mincemeat over crumb crust.

Combine 2 tablespoons flour, 1/2 teaspoon salt and remaining ingredients in same large mixer bowl. Blend well. Spread over mincemeat. Bake at 350 degrees F. for 30 to 35 minutes. Cool; cut into bars. Makes 36 bars.
