Recipe(tried): Minor's Tortilla Soup

Here is the trial size of an excellent recipe that we serve in our restaurant, full size version available if desired. Not the Boston Market one, but this recipe developed and distributed by the Minor Soup base people.

Recipe for Tortilla soup
(Trial size)

Saute
1/3 cup diced onions
in 1/2 Tbsp Veg oil

1 1/2 cups hot water
1 tbsp + 1 tsp Chicken base (this is Minor's recipe)

8 oz diced cooked chicken
15 oz. can diced tomatoes in juice
3 Tbsp Salsa
1/2 tsp + 1/4 tsp ground cumin
1/2 tsp minced garlic
1/4 tsp chili powder
1/8 tsp ground black pepper

Mix all above together, heat to boiling for 10-15 minutes, stir ocassionally.

2 1/2 (6-inch) tortillas, cut julienne to 1 1/2-inches long, while stirring above, slowly add the tortilla strips to soup.
