Andrea: This recipe has been a family favorite for years. I hope you like it too. I live in England and although I rely on care packages from home and frequent shopping trips back home (Colorado), these are pretty basic ingredients you can probably find anywhere. Diana
MOM'S COLE SLAW
1 cup sugar
1 cup white vinegar
1/2 Tbsp. celery seed
1/2 Tbsp. mustard seed
1/2 Tbsp. salt
1/2 head cabbage, grated
1 small onion, chopped
1/2 green bell pepper, chopped
Boil the sugar, vinegar, celery seed, mustard seed, and salt together; cool.
Combine cabbage, onion, and green pepper in a large bowl. Add the cooled sugar mixture. Store in frig at least 24 hours before serving.
