Recipe: Moose Steak (from Taste of Home mag)
Misc.1 boneless moose or sirloin steak (about 1 inch thick and 1 1/2 pounds)
1/4 c. cornstarch
1 Tbsp. ground mustard
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
1 can (14-1/2 oz.) diced tomatoes, drained
1 medium carrot, diced
1 medium onion, thinly sliced
Hot cooked noodles (they used egg noodles)
Combine cornstarch, mustard, pepper and salt; rub half of mixture over steak. Pound steak with meat mallet until tender. Rub with remaining mixture; pound again on both sides. Cut steak into serving size pieces (bite-size is what is shown in the pic). In a skillet, brown steak in oil. Transfer to a greased 2- 1/2 quart baking dish. Top with tomatoes, onion and carrot. Cover and bake at 350 degrees for 1 to 1 1/2 hours or until the meat is tender. Serve over noodles.
