Recipe: More Recipes For Life
Recipe Collections Here are a few more that are in a cookbook from the elementary school my kids attended and now some of my grandkids.
RECIPE FOR GREATNESS By Zane Grey
To bear up under loss;
To fight the bitterness of defeat and the weakness of grief;
To be victor over anger;
To smile when tears are close;
To resist disease and evil men and base instincts;
To hate hate and to love love;
To go onhen it would seem good to die;
To look up with unquenchable faith in something ever more about to be.
That is what any man can do, and be great.
RECIPE FOR A PICNIC
A basket filled with goodies,
A jug of lemonade,
A lazy summer afternoon,
A cool spot in the shade
A tablecloth of red and white
Beneath an old oak tree,
And myriads songbirds to produce
A heavenly symphony.
A group of happy people
To laugh and sing and play
Makes any picnic outing
A very joyful day.
RECIPE FOR PRESERVING CHILDREN
Take 1 large field, half a dozen children,2 or 3 small dogs, a pinch of brook and some pebbles.
Mix the children and dogs well together; put them on the field, stirring constantly. Pour the brook over the pebbles; sprinkle the field with flowers.
Spread over all a deep blue sky and bake in the sun. When brown, set away to cool in the bathtub.
