NEEPS AND TATTIES FOR 100
RECIPE FOR NEEPS AND TATTIES (Scottish)
Here is the REAL traditional Scottish recipe that I was raison on. It's just great!
Lots of peeled and boiled potatoes. Lots of turnips (not the white ones) Get rutabaga(large purple waxy ones)
Peel and dice the turnips, place in a large pot of water with plenty of salt and boil just as you would boil the potatoes. When both are cooked mix them together with a very healthy amount of butter(don't mash though - just mix) Taste and add more salt if necessary and lots of black pepper. That's it. Keep warm in the oven. Don't ruin it by adding onions, sour cream or anything else. It's great just as it is. Hope you enjoy it.
nORE: MAKE EQUAL AMOUNTS OF BOTH. i IMAGINE FOR 100 PEOPLE YOU WOULD CERTAINLY NEED 100 POTATOES AND ABOUT10 RUTABAGA
