Desserts - Cookies, Brownies, Bars
No Bake Cherry Cookies

1 1/2 c. powdered sugar
1 1/2 c. flaked coconut
1/2 c. butter or oleo
1 tsp. almond extract
graham cracker crumbs
maraschino cherries

Cream butter and sugar together; add extract. Stir in coconut. Roll into balls, the size of walnut. Roll in graham cracker crumbs. Press maraschino cherry into center of each ball. Mixture can be refrigerated to make easier to roll into balls. Makes 24 to 30.

No Bake Chocolate Cookies

2 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. milk
5 Tbsp. cocoa
3 c. quick cooking oatmeal
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. peanut butter
nuts, coconut, marshmallows, if desired

Bring to a rolling boil the sugar, butter, milk and cocoa. Add remaining ingredients. When cool enough to handle, roll into 1-inch balls; flatten slightly and place half green or red maraschino cherry or half walnut in center.

2/3 c. Eagle Brand sweetened condensed milk
1/3 c. powdered sugar
1 c. nuts

1/2 c. chopped maraschino cherries

Mix and form into balls.

No Bake Christmas Cookies

2 c. vanilla wafer crumbs
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. chopped maraschino cherries
1 c. chopped walnuts or pecans
2/3 c. Eagle Brand milk
1 lb. confectioners sugar

Mix all ingredients well, form into balls and roll in confectioners sugar. Let stand at least 2 hours. Store in airtight container.

No Bake Cookies

1 pkg. butterscotch chips
1/2 c. peanut butter
1 c. miniature marshmallows
1 1/2 c. cornflakes or Post
Toasties
1/2 c. candied cherries or
other fruit
nuts (if desired)

Melt butterscotch chips and peanut butter over hot (not boiling) water. Remove from heat and add all the other ingredients. Mix well and drop by teaspoon onto waxed paper. Cool. I like the candied cherries or candied pineapple bits the best or combination of both.

No Bake Brandy Balls

1 (13 1/4 oz.) pkg. graham
cracker crumbs (4 c.)
1 c. fine chopped nuts
1 c. fine chopped candied
cherries
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ground cloves
1/3 c. light Karo syrup
1/2 c. brandy
powdered sugar

Combine cracker crumbs, nuts, cherries, cinnamon and cloves. Stir in Karo and brandy; shape into 1-inch balls. Store in airtight container. (Flavor will improve on storage.) Roll in powdered sugar before serving. Makes about 4 to 5 dozen cookies.
