Recipe: Open Kettle and Microwave Canning Warning

Misc.
I am sorry, but this method is unsafe. It doesn't call for boiling water bath processing.

Putting a lid on a jar does nothing to destroy bacteria, in or on the jars, and it does not create a true vacumm seal. With a weak seal, they can come unsealed during storage.

It would be the same as "open kettle" method.

If there are botulism spores in your food, you have not destroyed them. Other microorganisms can survive and cause other types of bacteria growth, as well.
All foods, even jams, jellies, and pickled items must be processed to destroy bacteria and insure a safe seal.
