Recipe(tried): Overnight Oats (using Greek yogurt)
Breakfast and BrunchHave you heard of Overnight Oats? They are all the rage on Pinterest. Here is how I make mine.
OVERNIGHT OATS
Into a 2 or 2 1/2 cup glass jar or plastic ware, put:
1/2 cup of quick oats (that is what we call them in Canada. I've heard of people using Steel cut oats too but I haven't tried this with them.)
1 individual lunchbox serving cup of diced peaches with liquid (that is what I had on hand. You could use fresh or frozen berries, other diced fruit cups, sliced bananas, etc.)
A little vanilla extract.
I like to add some cinnamon.
1 individual serving of whatever flavor of Greek yogurt you like (I like to use coconut or vanilla.)
Your favourite soy milk or almond milk etc etc to fill to the top of the container.
Put the top on the container tightly and shake it up well. Then put it in the fridge. To eat, you can eat it cold from the fridge or warm it up in the microwave:)
The flavor possibilities are endless. It is portable. Cheater note, the zip lock round "jars" are spill proof:) I made my first one in an empty Classic pasta sauce jar. People often use mason jars.
Hope you try this and enjoy it as much as I do:)
