Recipe: Bristol Bar and Grille Waffles with Honey Butter (1980's)

Q: I would appreciate the waffle recipe from Bristol Bar & Grille in the Kentucky Center for the Arts. The waffles are out of this world. - Patricia Jarett, Louisville
A: Here it is, straight from the downtown Bristol chef, Ramon. - - Alice Colombo
1 cup flour
1 teaspoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 egg
1/2 cup milk
5 teaspoons vegetable oil
Honey Butter (recipe follows)
Fresh strawberries or blueberries
Whipped cream
Place first seven ingredients in large bowl of electric mixer. Beat until no lumps are present.
Bake on hot waffle iron according to manufacturer's directions.
Pour honey butter over hot waffles. Top with fresh strawberries or blueberries and whipped cream.
HONEY BUTTER
1/2 cup butter
1/4 cup honey
Melt butter in a saucepan and add honey, stirring to combine and heating only until warm (honey and butter will separate if overheated).
Makes 3 servings
