Recipe: Peanut Butter Fudge

Peanut Butter Fudge

By request, here is, IMHO, the BEST recipe for Peanut Butter Fudge ever! It is smooth, creamy, peanut buttery. This recipe makes 5 pounds of fudge and make it every year at Christmas to ship for gifts. I've never had a flop (and I've used this recipe for at least 15 years). rec.food.baking/Jen Sturm/1998

5 cups white sugar
1/2 cup white Karo syrup
1 stick margarine (or butter if prefer)
1 can evaporated milk

Mix above ingredients on low heat & cook until forms a soft ball in cold water. Remove from heat & add:

1 (40 oz.) jar peanut butter (yep, that is the BIG jar)
3 large tablespoons marshmallow cream.

Beat until mixed well and pour into a 13x9-inch pan. Cool at room temperature. Yield: 5 pounds
