PEARL'S HAM
"I don't go for these precooked hams. I get my ham and cook it till it's about 3/4 done. (Either bake or simmer in liquid. A 6-pound ham takes about 2 hours). Place ham in roasting pan. Mix about 2 cups orange juice and 1 can beer and keep basting the ham with the mixture as it roasts in an uncovered pan. I don't know what it does to it, but it "smokes" it or something. It comes out tasting like Smithfield ham." - Pearl Bailey
