hi susan,
don't have the exact recipe you look for. but this one is great. perhaps you could find a leave-shape cookie cutter to make the shape? as far as the taste, i can only say these are wonderful.

Pistachio Munchies
Make about 50 small pieces
110 g butter
30 g. Crisco
600 g. castor sugar
1 egg yolk
1/2 t. green coloring (optional)
200 g plain flour
30 g. corn flour (cornstarch)
40g custard powder
1/2 t. baking powder
45 g. pistachio nuts & 40g almonds, chopped (or just use 85g pistachio nuts)
8 green candied cherries, sliced
for decoration:
cooking chocolate (i use dark chocolate.)
Cream the butter, Crisco and sugar for about 4 minutes. Add in egg yolk. Put in coloring and continue creaming. Sift flour, corn flour, custard powder and baking powder, and then combine them. Mix the nuts and cherries and pour into the batter mixture. Mix thoroughly.
Roll out the dough on a grease proof paper and cut to the size of a 1 inch ring and leave it to harden in the fridge for 1 hour. When harden, bake them at 160C for 20 minutes.
Leave to cool and then melt the chocolate and pipe it on top of the cookies.
