I just made this salad last week, I am from Michigan, and still have family there, but have lived in Ohio for years. Every time we go home to visit, I try to make it to Buddy's, it is my absolute favorite! I made a dressing that is surprisingly simple, and was pretty close to Buddy's.
If you have a Good Seasons cruet (they sell it with the packets of Italian dressing mix), this is even easier, because the measurements are right on the bottle! I am not at home right now, so I don't know the measurements off-hand, but I will try to get on here again later when I have them.
Anyway, using the cruet and the mix, fill red wine vinegar past the vinegar line, to the water line.
Fill with olive oil to the oil line, and then add a teaspoon or two of water.
Add a VERY small amount of the italian dressing mix (it just gives it a little more seasoning, but you're not trying to make it taste like italian dressing!)
Shake well and toss with iceberg lettuce, wisconsin brick cheese, a little salt and pepper, and sliced hard salami, and you've got Buddy's antipasto salad!
