Recipe(tried): Pistachio Spumoni Ice Cream - the recipe's orange peel and pistachio tip
Desserts - FrozenI made 2 batches of this pistachio spumoni ice cream and it was absolutely delicious! I made my own candied orange peel and used that in the recipe and it worked just fine.
One adjustment I made on the second batch was to chop the pistachios larger for better texture and I put the chopped nuts through a seive before putting in the ice cream to seive out the super fine pistachios at the bottom of the chopped nuts.
The first batch I made I put in *all* the 'choppings' right off the chopping board and the really fine pistachios made the ice cream taste 'grainy'. :-(
