Recipe: Plains Special Cheese Ring with Strawberry Preserves

PLAINS SPECIAL CHEESE RING

1 pound grated sharp Cheddar cheese
1 cup mayonnaise
1 cup chopped walnuts or almonds
1 small onion, grated
black pepper to taste
dash ground cayenne pepper
strawberry preserves (for serving)
crackers (for serving)

In a medium bowl, mix cheese, mayonnaise, nuts, onion, black pepper, and cayenne.

Mold with hands until ring (or desired shape); refrigerate until chilled.

To serve, fill center with strawberry preserves. Serve with crackers.

Makes 20 servings
