Recipe: Quick Chocolate Fudge (C&H Powdered Sugar box, 1960's)

QUICK CHOCOLATE FUDGE

1 (6 oz.) package semi-sweet chocolate pieces
1 pound C & H Powdered Sugar
6 tablespoons evaporated milk, room temperature
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) soft butter or margarine
1 cup coarsely chopped nuts

In a saucepan, melt chocolate pieces over hot (not boiling) water.

Combine powdered sugar, evaporated milk, vanilla and salt. Mix until smooth. Add melted chocolate, blend well. Stir in butter. Mix in nuts. Spread in a buttered 9-inch square pan. Chill until firm.

Cut into squares. Store in a cool place.

Makes about 1 1/2 pounds
