Recipe: Re: ISO Chicken mole

1 - 2 1/2 to 3 lb broiler-fryer chicken, cut up
2 tbsp butter
1/4 c finely chopped onion
1/4 c finely chopped green pepper
1 clove garlic, minced
1 7 1/2 oz can tomatoes, cut up
1/2 c beef broth
2 tsp sugar
1/4 of a square (1/4 oz) unsweetened chocolate
1/2 tsp chili powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/8 tsp ground cinnamon
1/8 tsp ground nutmeg
dash ground cloves
dash bottled hot pepper sauce
2 tbsp cold water
1 tbsp cornstarch

in large skillet, brown chicken pieces in hopt butter for 15 min. season chicken with a little salt and pepper. remove from skillet; set chicken pieces aside.
in same skillet, cook onion, green pepper, and garlic in pan drippings till vegetables are tender. add undrained tomatoes, beef broth, sugar, chocolate, chili powder, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves and hot pepper sauce. stir to combine ingredients and melt chocolate. add chicken; cover and reduce heat. cook about 45 min or till chicken is tender.
transfer chicken to a heated serving platter. keep warm. combine cold water and cornstarch; stir into sauce. cook and stir till thickened and bubbly. cook and stir 2 min more. pour sauce over chicken. serves 6
