Misc.wow...I've never had to explain beetroot before!!
It's a tuber, and it is a very deep,dark red/maroon with dark green leaves. Usually sold ready pickled in jars, or ready cooked in supermarkets. You can bake it in the oven like a potato and then split it and fill it with sour cream and chives.
Watch out, this stains your fingers bright red too!!
Can somebody tell me if there is an American name for this thing????
